Forest Manager/Land Surveyor

We are now looking for a forest manager/land surveyor for a combined position with significant responsibility and the opportunity to influence the management of the municipality's forest and land holdings.

About the role

The position is a strategic and operational combination where you are responsible for the municipality's forest assets while also working with property law and technical issues related to land, boundaries, and rights of use. The role suits you who want to work broadly and independently in a municipal organization with a clear focus on sustainability.

Your tasks

Forestry Management:

• Manage the municipality's forest properties with a focus on long-term, sustainable, and economically profitable forestry production
• Establish and follow up on forestry plans
• Plan and follow up on thinning, harvesting, and logging
• Collaborate with contractors and other stakeholders in forestry

Land Surveying and Property Management:

• Work with the municipality's property boundaries, property formation, and land issues
• Handle leases, easements, rights of use, and land agreements
• Participate in land valuation and preparation for land sales
• Be an expert in property law issues related to forest and land

Technology, Geodata, and Agreements:

• Work with GIS, mapping, and geodata tools as well as GPS-based systems
• Draft and negotiate agreements, such as lease agreements and easements (e.g., roads, utilities, or energy facilities)
• Prepare decision-making materials for officials and political bodies

We are looking for you who

• Have a university degree as a forest engineer, forestry technician, or land surveyor (or other relevant education combined with equivalent experience)
• Have good knowledge of both forestry and property law
• Have experience working with forest properties, land, and property issues
• Are accustomed to working with digital mapping and planning tools
• Have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• Have a B driver's license
